Overview

As an Agency Care Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care to adults in a variety of settings across the Chichester and Portsmouth areas. You will support individuals with daily living, promote independence, and ensure their safety and well-being. Shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and short-notice assignments depending on client needs.


Key Responsibilities

Personal Care & Support

  • Assist with washing, dressing, bathing, toileting, and continence care

  • Support clients with mobility, including transfers and use of mobility aids

  • Administer or prompt medication in line with care plans and training

Daily Living Assistance

  • Support with meal preparation, hydration, and feeding where required

  • Help with domestic tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping

  • Provide companionship, emotional support, and social engagement

Professional Care Standards

  • Follow individual care plans and risk assessments

  • Record and report care notes accurately and promptly

  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, colleagues, and healthcare professionals

  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold safeguarding responsibilities

Teamwork & Flexibility

  • Adapt to different care environments (residential homes, supported living, private homes, etc.)

  • Work independently or as part of a team

  • Be reliable, punctual, and prepared for short-notice shift assignments


Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in care (professional or voluntary) – 6 months

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Compassionate, patient, and reliable

  • Ability to work flexible hours

  • Right to work in the UK


Compliance Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply)

  • Up-to-date mandatory training (e.g., Moving & Handling, Safeguarding, First Aid)

  • Proof of identity and work eligibility

  • Two professional references


Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care

  • Experience with dementia, learning disabilities, or complex needs

  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle
